It’s been a while since we’ve had an Elder Scrolls online article, but with the new update coming up soon it is time to brush up on our ESO knowledge. There are 4 different Master Writs that grant you unique rewards when completed; this guide tells you how and where to get them all.

You’ll have a 15% chance of getting a Master writ from your standard writ reward containers if you have all accomplishments achieved in your Enchanting, Alchemy, and Jewelry making skill lines.
Your odds of getting a Master writ improve by 10% if you have learnt all qualities from Blacksmithing, Clothing, and Woodworking. Your chances of acquiring Writs of Mastery grow with each theme you learn in Blacksmithing, Clothing, and Woodworking. When it comes to provisioning, the more purple and gold recipes you know, the more likely you are to get a Master writ.
Other options for obtaining a Master’s degree
You may also get Writs of Mastery in various methods. If you’re a member of a guild, Writs of Mastery are often found in the guild bank. Writs of Mastery are also sold by other guilds, thus you may get them through a Guild Trader. These are also useful reminders if you have a large number of unused writs and are unsure what to do with them all – sell!
Step 1: Begin a Master’s thesis
To begin with, Writs of Mastery are quite simple. Open your inventory, go to your writs, and choose a writ to complete. If you don’t have many goods, you may wish to start with a lesser-quality writ since the crafting cost will be much cheaper.
A purple woodworking writ would be a good choice. Only purple and gold are available in blacksmithing, woodworking, and clothing. Because wood is readily available, the purple are quite inexpensive to produce. Select the sort of writ you’d want to finish, then open the item from your inventory. When you scroll over the writs, you’ll see that the description will inform you what the prize is. The bigger the prize, the more complex the object is to manufacture and the more materials are needed. To begin, choose a simple project and open the notebook.

Accepting the Master Writ in Step 2
When you open the document, you’ll get a notice inviting you to create something. Accept the mission by clicking “”.
Step 3 – Locate a location where the Master writ may be crafted.
Unlike daily writs, the Master writ requires you to manufacture a particular item. If you’ve picked an equipment writ, you’ll need to locate the item’s fixed location in Tamriel. You may make it at any consumables station if you’ve opened a consumables writ; however, you’ll need to know the formula or combination. If you don’t have a recipe, you may purchase one from the Guild Traders. Step 5 is skipped if you have a consumable writ. Continue reading if you have an equipment writ.

If you have an equipment writ, a quest marker will show on your map since you are completing a “quest.”
Activate your Quest Journal., go to “Crafting,” choose your Master writ, and select “Show on Map.” You should be able to see where your item needs to be made by zooming out on the map.

Step 4 – Do you have a sense of style?
You must first determine whether you are familiar with the crafting technique before heading to the local Wayshrine (yes, we speak from experience). Otherwise, you’ll arrive at your crafting station and be unable to complete the task.
ReActivate your Quest Journal. and make a note of the item’s Style and Type.
To test whether you’re familiar with the Style:
- Activate your Quest Journal.
- Go to the “Lore Library” section of the menu.
- From the left pane, choose “Crafting Motifs.”
- Find the Style book you’re searching for by scrolling down.
- Examine the right reading window to check whether you’re familiar with the style.

Because the books are organized alphabetically, finding the Style you wish to create should be simple. The Outfit will be colored if you know the Style. The item will be greyed out if your character does not know the Style. You may go on to the next phase if you know the Style. If you are unfamiliar with the Style, you must first learn how to use it. Purchasing the Style from the Guild Traders is the easiest method to do so.
It’s worth noting that the Styles needed for crafting, or rather the Motif Styles, are not the same as the Outfit Styles available in Collections.
Step 5 – Do you have all of the necessary supplies?
Before heading to the specific crafting area, or even a generic consumables location, double-check that you have all of the necessary ingredients to build the item. Check the recipe list to make sure you have everything you need. Other than that, make sure you have enough mats to finish the writ. Harvest more or buy some from one of the crafting merchants near the crafting stations if you don’t have enough.
Check the Quest Journal for equipment writs and make sure you have the ingredients to manufacture the characteristic. You can buy the right trait material from Guild Traders or crafting merchants if you don’t already have it. You must also verify that you have the necessary supplies for the Style. Purchase resources or utilize a Crown Mimic Stone if you don’t have enough for the Style.
Step 6: Create the Object
You can make the item now that you know the Style or Recipe. Craft it at any station if it’s a consumables writ. If you have an equipment writ, use the procedure explained in Step three to locate the appropriate crafting location.

Craft the item after you’ve arrived at the suitable station. Bethesda has issued an update that allows players to only view “Quest Items” while crafting. Toggle this on to make crafting the item simpler. You’ll only need to create the item itself if you have a consumables writ. If you have an equipment writ, you must first manufacture the item as Normal quality before upgrading it to the requisite superiority.

Step 7: Submit and Reward
Your quest log should have changed to say “Deliver the [item]” now that you have the item in your inventory. You can’t easily hand in a Master writ in any city, unlike daily writs. “Travel to Mourhold to Meet your Contact,” says a suggestion under your mission log. By entering the quest log and tapping “Show on Map,” like you did in Step three, you may determine the precise place to go to.
In Deshaan, visit the Mournhold Wayshrine. When you arrive, you’ll see that your quest marker is pointing you south-east of the Wayshrine. If you follow the marker, you’ll come upon Rolis Hlaalu, an NPC. Your item will be accepted by the Mastercraft Mediator. You may now choose to go to the Mastercraft Mediator Store and redeem your prizes. There’s a long list of things you can purchase with the writ coupons you received. The more difficult your item is to make, the more vouchers you’ll earn, and the faster you’ll be able to get your hands on some of these fantastic prizes.

Add-ons that are useful
Elder Scrolls Online players have been using Add-ons for years to help their experiences with the game. There are add-ons for what you see in the interface, skins, maps, and more. There are a couple of Add-ons that are useful when it comes to doing the Writs of Mastery.
Creator of Lazy Writing
“Dolgubon’s Creator of Lazy Writing” is a fantastic add-on for doing writs in general. It will automatically pick you the daily writs from the board and quickly create them from Stations. It will automatically open all containers and material mail for you too. When it comes to the Master writ, it can help create the item for you without accidentally selecting any other items and wasting your materials. Search for “Creator of Lazy Writing” in Minon to find to Add-on.
WritWorthy
You’ll need Creator of Lazy Writing to get WritWorthy which specifically helps you craft the Master writ. Use these two add-ons together to create the required item for your quest. But WritWorthy doesn’t just help you create the item. When you choose a writ to complete from your inventory, WritWorthy will indicate if you have the required Style Motif already in your Lore Library. This will help you choose writs to complete without looking through your Library to find out if you know the Style.
Writs of Mastery
Now you’re a Master Writ crafter, stacking up your vouchers to gain plenty of cool items to use in your house and in crafting. You’ll also get a good chunk of experience points for completing Writs of Mastery. Whether you choose to put your time into doing these, however, is up to you. Are the rewards valuable to you? Would you rather spend time doing other things in ESO? Those are questions only you can answer. That’s the beauty of MMORPGs — you choose the adventure you want to embark.
