Final Fantasy XIV, Square Enix’s massively successful MMORPG, is finally receiving a fresh coat of paint in the shape of a new visuals upgrade, which is slated to launch in the game’s next major patch.
Naoki Yoshida, the producer and director of Final Fantasy XIV, confirmed the news in a lengthy “letter” to fans on YouTube today, which also contained a roadmap for forthcoming updates and his predictions for the long-running MMORPG’s next ten years. Fans of Final Fantasy XIV may anticipate improved aesthetics for not just characters, but also landscapes and backdrops, which will be upgraded in a number of ways, including richer textures and higher-resolution shadows.
