The 100,000 strong army of the Cherokee tribe fight on with a battle cry that echoes across the plains. Every warrior is a leader and every squad fights as one. The fighting force is ever-growing – their enemy, if anything can be said to have an enemy in Warhammer 40k universe – are constant challenges for strength and skill.
The “warhammer 40k tournament lists 2021” is a list of the top players in the world for the game Warhammer 40,000. The list will be updated every year on January 1st.
The Cherokee Open Winning Lists are in, and our specialists on The Night’s crew have a comprehensive analysis for you. One hundred and seventy-four players arrived in Cherokee, North Carolina, eager to put their skills to the test and establish who has the most powerful army in the competitive meta.
Frontline Gaming’s findings:
Drukhari, Adeptus Mechanicus, and even the Crusher Stampede aren’t among them. Tau would sweep the podium, taking all three spots and slamming the Custodes, who finished in the top eight. It’s possible it’s the Tau Bodyguard rule, considering all three players used it. Alternatively, the Kroot Carnivores may be filling up Patrol detachments to make room for more Commanders. Wisdom of the Guides may also assist reduce the cost of those additional detachments in terms of Command points. Thank you very much to Frontline Gaming for always keeping the tournament numbers up to date!
Despite the fact that the Genestealers Cults have a new codex, their best ranking was just 21st. For a fresh season of 40K, I’m not quite ready. While the tau may seem oppressive, the Eldar are on their way. All the way down, it was Tau. Tau was among the top three. You understand.
First place in the Cherokee Open Harpster, Jack
DavidSondered’s Tau against Raven guard DPS
Commander Jack Harpster lead the last T’au standing after nine rounds in the Cherokee Open. Using the supreme commander detachment and the fact that her t’au keyword isn’t selected.
Taking the body guards is one approach to get past the datasheet restriction of crisis battle suits. Which also serves as a bodyguard to keep characters safe from being shot at. Because there is no restriction on aiming at what’s closest, this may also shield characters from overwatch.
Regardless, there are a slew of suits arriving with a slew of high-powered Damage 3 weapons. Using the Homing beacon for deepstrike plays with the suits is a possibility. One team is more anti-horde than the others.
There may be some ambiguity in Jack’s list, but they are Farsight Allied planets, not Farsight Enclaves. As a result, they may take the Ethereal with them. Shadowsuns rerolls to hit on T’au Empire, not just T’au Sept, resulting in very consistent hitting.
Jack Harpster gets an A+ for overall performance.

2nd place in the Cherokee Open Johnson, Quinton
DiegoGisbertLlorens’ Commander Shadowsun
Commander Quinton Johnson forged his own route in the T’au meta by using modified Septs. He got it to the very final game of T’au on T’au violence, therefore it must work. Calm Underpressure gives Assault weapons an additional point of power while firing against troops within 12″. When you add in the Army-wide disregard Light Cover from Pinpoint Targeting, that’s a really decent deal. While approaching a Knight or difficult bugs in a Crusher Stampede might be frightening, some of those weapons have a strength of 9. Exemplar of the Mont’ka also allows for wound rerolls for one unit. For certain Armies, too much Dakka from so near might be too much Dakka.
Congratulations for making it all the way to the finish and coming in second.

3rd place in the Cherokee Open Sean Rice is a young man who has a
John-Stone-T’au Art’s
Commander Sean Rice could keep the Crisis Bodyguards out of Line of Sight so that they could focus on their primary mission of keeping the characters safe. However, they have something to do with the Airbursting Questionmentation and disregarding cover due to Target Lock. With their rerolls, the Pure T’au sept army makes the Broadsides even better. Shadowsun, on the other hand, will allow for even more rerolls for a single unit.
Again, congratulations to Commander Sean Rice for securing every point he could and advancing to the semifinals for a third-place finish.
